University of Western Ontario

    
University of Western Ontario is known as one of Canada’s largest and well-established centres of higher education. It is located in London, Ontario, was founded in 1878 by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth of Bishop's University and the Anglican Diocese of Huron and known by The Western University of London Ontario. Now the university is scenically situated on a large rolling 375 acre campus including 75 buildings in the main campus with approximately 34,000 full and part-time students enrolled in the 12 faculties of Western. They are:
  •   Faculty of Arts and Humanities - The Faculty has eight Departments: Classical Studies; English; Film Studies; French Studies; Modern Languages and Literatures; Philosophy; Visual Arts and Women’s Studies and Feminist Research
  •   Faculty of Education  focuses core courses in social foundation of education, educational psychology and special education, and curriculum and pedagogy.
  •  Faculty of Engineering manly focuses on graduate and undergraduate engineering programs
  • The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • Faculty of Health Sciences focuses on communication sciences and disorders, health and rehabiation sciences, health studies, kinesiology, nursing, occupational therapy and physical therapy
  •  Faculty of Information and Media Studies offesr strong programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Media, Information and Technology
  •  Western Law School focuses on Business Law, and Intellectual Property, Information and Technology Law.
  •  Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry focuses on Medicine studies and dental surgery
  • Don Wright Faculty of Music supports and produces more than 300 concerts each year, most of which are free and open to the public.
  •  Richard Ivey School of Business mainly focuses on Business programs such as HBA, iHBA, MBA and so on
  • Faculty of Science focuses on applied mathematics, biology, chemistry, and computer science programs and so on.
  • Faculty of Social Science offers American studies, anthropology, commercial aviation management program, economic and first nation studies
  •  Management and Organizational Studies
The university also has 3 affiliated colleges:
  • Brescia University College established in 1919
  • Huron University College established in 1863
  • King University College established in 1939
The university has an average entering grade for those admitted in the class of 2008-09 was 86.4%, the second highest in Ontario after Queen's University
Student Life at Western
The university has a number of student residences on campus; 5 residences in the traditional dorm-style residences and 4 newer suite-style accommodations.

The University has a Community Centre that is home to many student-run clubs and media outlets, including The Gazette, Western's daily student newspaper, Western in 5, Western in your world, tvWestern.ca, the campus television station, and 94.9 CHRW-FM,. The campus also consist the popular student lounge with pub section, the Spoke, as well as the Wave, a restaurant/dance club. School spirit runs high at Western, as social events are well attended. The university also consists fitness centre, health care centre and cinema for student to entertain after classes.
Administration Requirements
Administration requirements depend on the faculty and program you apply to. In general, the applicants need to have an average 75% in GPA in secondary schools; transfer applicants also need an average 75% in GPA and some required courses that depending on the program. University of Toronto is one of the biggest Universities in Toronto. The faculty is listed one of the top 5 of all university in Ontario. U of T is also one of the hardest schools for students to get in such as students with high achievements and grades level are much more likely to get accepted to the program of their choice. The university is about 2 kilometers north of the financial district in Downtown Toronto. The faculty of Arts and Science is the university's main undergraduate faculty.At U of T students can choose varieties of programs of their interest such as applied science and engineering, business/commerce/management, humanities, life science, mathematical, physical and computer science, social sciences(and economics), music, physical education and health, and professional programs requiring university preparation. 

How to apply:
If you are applying from an Ontario High School you can apply using the OUAC application. Any further information you can contact your school guidance counselor. If you’re applying from any other Canadian province or from outside Canada you can apply online at www.ouac.on.ca/105/. From that website you will find applications that can be requested by email. 

U of T offers extensive scholarship programs to recognize outstanding achievements at different levels of studies. University of Toronto St. George Campus
The St. George Campus is located in the heart of downtown in Toronto. Every Arts and Science student on the St. George campus is a member of one of U of T's seven college enjoying all the advantages of a smaller community together with membership in the nation’s top research university. Regardless of which college a student belongs to, they will still have access to all courses and programs offered in Arts and Science. University of Toronto Mississauga Campus

University of Toronto Scarborough Campus
The University of Toronto Scarborough has 10,000 students and is situated on Highland Creek Valley, about 30 minutes east of downtown Toronto.
